The Phoenix Bay and Haddo Wharf of Port Blair are connected to Little Andaman via government ferries. The tickets for the ferries can be bought online or on the counter, but in peak season, it is better to book tickets well in advance. It takes 6 to 8 hours to reach Butler Bay via a ferry. A much quicker way is to travel via a helicopter, but it is a costly method.
Ferry services directly from the coastal paradise Havelock island to Butler Bay are not available. You have to go via Port Blair. From Havelock island, a government ferry to Port Blair can be booked by queuing up at the counter or connecting with a local travel agent, since the option to book these tickets online is not available. Since these are popular tourist destinations, it can be quite difficult to get a ticket, so book your travel well in advance. You can also book a private ferry, which will be a costlier but convenient option.
From Port Blair to Butler Bay, it is easy to get a ticket for a government ferry, a private boat, or a helicopter.
